Hi, i like things & stuff so here are just a few....I enjoy being way out there where you don`t see many people, and its true that there are not many places like that anymore but there is a few. Mountain ranges, the bigger the range the better. Islands, the smaller the better. Huge forested areas is a rare site in Ireland these days so when we get a chance to stay in one we take it. I like being around people but....i can tell you truthfully, i love those secluded areas more! Its not just being there for a day but its spending 3 or 4 days or maybe a week hiking around these places with everything i need in my pack, my food, water, tent, and spare clothes. I also love music, a lot! I like movies, other cultures, history, nature, snow, rain, gale force winds and sun. I don`t like being bored or waiting for something.
The next few pictures were taken in the Mourne mountains, Northern Ireland. We took them on Sliabh Binnian which was the first mountain we summited.
The route we took up Sliabh Binnian was in the shade the whole way, and we even had a bit of snow to walk through so when we made it to the summit and were greeted with a sun set and breathtaking cloud formations on the other side of the mountain... the feeling was undescribable.
We done this trip on the first week of november 2008. We knew we were lucky to witness the sky like this, at this time of year, we knew it! But we also knew that we had much more walking to do after this mountain. So the safest and the most important thing to do would have being to carry on walking and make camp before dark. But.... when this kind of thing comes your way its hard to pass it up, we could not bring ourselves to leave the summit because the clouds were costantly changing the look of the landscape, and we might not get a sunset like this on the rest of our trip.
One moment the mountain was absolutly surounded by clouds, the next it was just a fine layer of mist.
And it was bitter cold but we didn`t care so we sat there and had lunch and looked at what seemed like another world, a far cry from the one we just came from.
That day on that summit we also witnessed a very rare site called a broken spectral, its a rainbow that forms a circle that never touches the ground and it appeared 3 times on front of our eyes. We took some pictures but unfortunatly they are barely noticable in the photos so the memorys of it is all we really have, but they are unforgetable memorys that im grateful for.
It was a huge risk we took hangng about on that summit for so long and as a result of it we had to decend the mountain in the dark, which can be extremely dangerous. But we still alive so it was worth every moment.
